Mary Formosa

Mary Formosa is Vice President of Human Resources for World Kitchen.  Mary joined World Kitchen in 2015 and is responsible for leading the human resources function for the organization. In this role she is responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies.  Mary has more than 24 years of human resources experience and has a bachelors degree in human resource management.

Prior to World Kitchen Mary was Vice President of Human Resources for Navistar Global Truck & Engine Group, Quality, Procurement and Safety joined the company on May 10, 2008. She was responsible for leading the human resources function for the Global Truck & Engine Group, Quality, Procurement and Safety human resource function in North America and its global businesses. In this role, she is responsible for developing and implementing human resources strategies that align with the overall group business strategy.

Prior to Navistar, Mary spent most of her career with Tribune Company, a Chicago-based multi-media company with over 50 business units and 23,000 employees. During her 20-year career with Tribune, Mary held a variety of HR director level positions, including leading the company corporate human resources, employee relations, recruitment and diversity functions. Her efforts resulted in increased efficiencies and cost savings, and positioned Tribune as an employer of choice. Mary also held the positions of HR Director/Tribune Education, Director/Employee Relations and several other HR regional management positions. Mary has a strong human resources background in employee relations, labor relations, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, performance management, compensation and benefits, recruitment, training and development, and dealing with acquisitions and divestitures.

In addition, Mary headed her own HR consulting business, where she focused on conducting HR assessments, ways to enhance employee engagement, leadership coaching and developing HR policies and procedures.

The Global Truck & Engine Group is growing and changing rapidly. As we focus on diversifying and growing our business globally, Mary continues to align our HR people strategy with our business strategy and prepare the organization for global success.

A graduate of DePaul University, Mary is also active in many HR professional organizations, including the National Latino Education Institute and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, where she is a board member. In addition, she has been a speaker at a number of HR conferences, including the Diversity Best Practices and Solutions Conference and Empowering Women Network.
